Volleyball

Thursday, July 22nd, 2004

So I played volleyball for the first time since high school, over eight years ago (yikes!). I actually played far better than I expected, and enjoyed myself quite a bit. I’ll be sore in the morning, though. My quads just aren’t used to those sort of movements at all anymore.

It was actually beach volleyball (more like sand volleyball, since there wasn’t a beach anywhere even remotely nearby). I got right dirty. We won both games, the first one being close, the second was a laugher. Cute girls on that team, though… ;)

Let the parade of weddings begin

Monday, July 19th, 2004

This past weekend marked the first of 5 weddings I’ll be attending this summer. It was pretty fun for me, however Jackie was stressed out with her emcee duties. Dave Bronconnier was in attendance at the actual wedding (he’s the mayor of Calgary), which was cool. He was the main source of stress for Jackie, but after she found out that he wouldn’t be attending the reception I think she became a little more relaxed. In the end, she made did her job very well, which made me very proud of her. ;) Congratulations to Jen and Kelly on their marriage!

Ha!

This has happened to me many times before. And the worst thing is, I can’t predict it at all. I’ll go for a year without magically re-setting my alarm in my sleep, and then all of a sudden I’ll do it twice in a week. For a while, I had to put my alarm on the opposite side of my room, just so I’d have to physically get up to shut it off. It’s good to know that others suffer from the same problems…
